In Memorial: Adam Alexander St. Martin

Adam St. Martin, triple transplant recipient, died suddenly of heart failure in San Francisco on December 16, 2009. He was 19 years old and attending San Francisco State University.Adam was born in San Diego on May 23, 1990. Because of a birth defect, Adam received a heart transplant when he was six months old. At age eight, he had a rare second heart transplant. At 16, he required a kidney transplant and received a kidney from his mother. Through it all, Adam was cheerful, buoyant, and funny.

San Diego, CA: The HPWP team celebrate Adam’s happy life.

In his short life, Adam traveled the United States, the Caribbean, and Central America. His interests were varied. He loved digital photography, politics, and hanging out with family and friends. Adam made friends easily and wanted to help those less fortunate. Adam was a joy and a blessing to those who knew him. He will live in their hearts and memories forever.

Adam’s last gift was donating his own tissues and organs to any who might need them. Please learn more about the gift of transplantation and the Adam St. Martin Foundation.
